With ONE OK ROCK announcing their European Tour for June 2016, our ONE OK ROCK family on the other side of the world is currently rejoicing and making efforts to sell it out. While exploring IG regarding the matter, I stumbled upon the picture of a concert ticket with quite an interesting caption. It belongs to 18-year old Ann from Poland. You know what I did afterwards. I sent her a message and asked if it’s ok to interview her for Love for 10969. Ann is on the last year of high school and should be learning a lot, but according to her she watches anime and meets with her best friend instead. Don’t worry Ann… I’ve been there and I’ve done that too. I survived. 🙂
I think I mentioned before that my favourite part of these fan stories is how ONE OK ROCK changes lives. Find out how ONE OK ROCK did something really good for Ann and how their music helped her get through some bad times.
Question 1: How did you find out about ONE OK ROCK & when was the first time you heard them? 🙂
It was about a year ago I think. One day my friend from school told me that I must get to know them, because they’re so awesome, but I don’t remember why I didn’t check out them that time. But quite later my best friend suddenly told me that she started listening to them and she can’t stop! I started too and I can’t stop listening to them even today.
Question 2: What is your favorite OOR song and why?
It’s really hard to choose. I love all of them. But if I should choose only one it’d be The Way Back Japanese version. I can’t stop listening to it. I would listen to it all day, I don’t even know why .
Question 3: Ok. Since you love ONE OK ROCK, do you collect their merch?
In Poland it’s really hard to find them. I have only 35xxxv deluxe version and T-shirt from a concert in Berlin and one poster from convention. There only one store with Japanese music.
Question 4: Who is your favorite ONE OK ROCK member and why?
I love all of them of course, but my favorite is Taka. Sometimes I’m a little mad at him, but not for a long time. His voice is so beautiful and lyrics are so deep. He’s such a good person after all. He’s sometimes so cute, I can’t hold it. His songs and voice helped many times. I’m trying to be a better person with his help.
Question 5: How did ONE OK ROCK change your life, Ann? 🙂
I’m more open for people. I always was afraid of them, I didn’t want to talk with anyone and I was alone all time. Thanks to them I’m less afraid. I learned to be individual and oppose my parents; they’re holding me really tight. Their music helped me to go through some bad moments. There was times I wanted to kill myself, but thanks to them, I stopped thinking like that. I accept myself and I have more courage and confidence. And of course I learned to always chase my dreams, that nothing is impossible. I think that’s all. 🙂
Question 6: Have you watched any of their live performances before? What were your expectations before the live and were they met?
I was only on a concert in Berlin in December last year. Otherwise I watched some documentary films.
I had a VIP ticket, so I was on a Meet & Greet. I was so excited. They were just as I expected. Only Toru was bigger than I thought. Ryota was so open and kind, Taka awesome as always and Tomo was so cute :).But they looked somehow tired T_T. I regret only that I was so surprised I forgot how to talk but that was perfect moment, because they were there ♥
Question 7: You will watch them live again? And where?
Yeah. They will come to Poland for the first time and also to my town.
The concert in Berlin was so awesome; I can’t even find words to name it. I just can’t wait to see them again. I’m so excited that I’m able to see them, be sure that they exist. On concert it felt like I was on a different world, where only they exist, everything just fly away, I forget about everything. I’m so excited. There was a contest on Facebook. We had to comment who we wanted to come to Poland. With my friend we got everyone to comment “OOR” and then it turns out that 90% comments was “OOR” I got to know about the concert two days ago and yesterday I got the ticket I think only about it, I can’t wait!
Question 8: What is your message for ONE OK ROCK in case they get the chance to see this interview? 🙂
I love them and I’ll never stop or forget about them. I’m thankful for everything I learned from them. I wish they’ll always stay together and make more amazing and deep music. Their friendship is such a beautiful thing. I wish the whole world will get to know about them and one they will be the most known band. I wish they’ll keep being just like they are, they’re perfect. But I’m a little worried about Taka, I wish he’d go to some practise on gym or something. Other members often practise and Taka should join them. Anyway I love them with my whole heart ♥
I’m joining her plea for Taka to take care of his health. XD
